In a recent article discussing sex education videos for schools in Fenton, MI, the reporter refers to Modernized Sex Ed. This concept of modernizing sex ed is often considered controversial when it should be an automatic process. Times change. The world students live in and what they are exposed to changes. Thus, the education must adjust appropriately or become ineffective.
The entire reason we produced the educational DVD discussing dating for parents and educators of teens titled “HELP! My Teen Is Dating. Real Solutions to Tough Conversations” was because of the demand from Moms, Dads, and teachers asking for an updated version of how to have “the talk” (ironically, we teach NOT to have THE talk – instead have lots of talks and make sure they are the RIGHT TALKS with the correct approach).
Parents and teachers understand the importance of this subject matter. Unfortunately, very little resources are available for making these talks and classroom lessons both ENGAGING, fun, and educational. Help your school system and community stay up-to-date. Let your leaders know what resources are available to best protect teenagers – and help their sons and daughters make the healthiest & safest choices.
What is being done in your community and/or in your homes?
