Here’s how to build a culture of respect:
"SAFER Choices for My Child in a Sexualized World"
This interactive seminar lead by author, subject matter expert, and Hall of Fame Speaker (CPAE), Mike Domitrz, is changing the way parents and their children are approaching, discussing, and handling decision-making regarding dating, intimacy, parties, and safety. In one hour, parents will discover essential steps for helping their sons and daughters with making safer choices, including:
- How to start the talk and get your child to listen
- Addressing the awkwardness (all of it)
- Consent & how to be a role model
- The exact words for discussing intimacy
- The dangers: from Alcohol to Sexual Assault
- The impact of porn and sexting on today’s youth
- How to truly “Be There” for your child
- and more!
Best of all, the lessons are designed to be flexible to the personality of YOUR TEENAGER. As you are aware, no one solution exists for every teenager. Each child is different. In this interactive program, you will laugh, learn, and be inspired to take immediate action upon getting home. Mike Domitrz will even give you a few tips to help get the conversation rolling – without your son’s or daughter’s eyes rolling at you.
Plus, having a special program for parents is a fantastic way to overcome any concerns a few Moms and Dads may share about a school district discussing dating, respect, decision-making and/or sexual assault. You can assure parents that any concerns they have can be asked about in the program for parents with Mike Domitrz.
And you get to hear from an author, subject matter expert, and Hall of Fame Speaker (CPAE), Mike Domitrz. When sharing with parents, Mike holds nothing back. He encourages parents to ask questions as they pop up during the talk.

Parents found it to be extremely helpful in sparking conversations that they once perceived as challenging or ‘off-limits.’

Mike’s stories about his own parenting foibles are so relatable and his trustworthiness makes him an immediate ally to parents and an advocate for students. Mike makes it safe to discuss honest truths about stereotypes and biases, sexual assault, and creating a culture of consent. The feedback I got after hosting Mike was tied between “that was awesome” and “when is he coming back?

Eye opening - I have already shared some of the basic themes with my friend group. I wish they would have all attended the talk as well and that Mike could speak at our middle and high schools!

As the excitement of this week’s successful series of 12 presentations turns into the sheer joy of having made such a large impact on the fabric of our children’s lives, we want to say, ‘THANK YOU’! Thank you because you connected so easily and comfortably with our students, and thank you because you also connected with their parents and with many other adults in our community.

Mike presented a workshop at our overseas military installation school and a corresponding evening session for parents in the 2009/2010 time frame. The student presentation had a long-lasting, positive impact on both my kids who were young teens at the time. (Both wore their t-shirts for many years, which I think was a great reinforcement of the message to lead with respect and seek consent.) Most importantly, as adults they've both found their way to loving, respectful partnerships that they continue to embrace with that same respectful consideration. Thank you for your work and the message you bring to our youth and young adults!
