Berry College students discuss sexual assault and consent

Japanese food, great sushi, sexual education discussion, consent, a packed house, and all in one night at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. Started off meeting Katherine Powell, who does a great job running the program on campus. Catherine brought together several for peer educators and mentors to have us discuss ways to help them continue the conversation on their campus. During the course of the hour we spent together in this train the trainer session, the students asked a lot of great questions. Consequently, the hour flew by.

To my surprise, Terry and the students took me out to a Japanese restaurant which had yummy sushi and gigantic dishes for entrées. After the great conversation at dinner, we headed back to the chapel for the main presentation of “Can I Kiss You?“. Within one hour, the chapel was packed to the tilt with all the incoming students and several returning students coming back to see the program again.

Throughout the show, the students were fun, interactive, and you could see they were really thinking about how to use the information immediately. A big “thank you” goes out to all the students who came up to me after the program to share their feedback. Their response made tonight a lot of fun.

Once again a big thank you goes out to Terri and to Katherine for making the day and evening such a success.  Check out their video below.
