Too often when discussing consent and asking first, people assume the worst case scenario of hearing, “No” (even though the same person could be rejected by going for it without asking first – including hearing the word, “No”).
Asking for a kiss is about giving your partner a choice BEFORE any sexual contact begins. The far majority of individuals agree with the following statement: every person deserves to have a choice BEFORE someone sexually touches them. Almost every parent want their kids who are dating to always be given a choice before anyone chooses to sexually touch them. Sadly society rarely sees asking first being role modeled and thus many do not even consider giving a partner that choice everyone agrees they deserve.
